Fashion is a very interesting thins and stands as the proof of the fact that mass people are influenced by a group of people or other social entities. Most of us would agree with the fact that fashions trends are started by fashion magazines, celebrities and media. It is true as we all know how much we are influenced by our favorite movie stars, singers, footballers and fashion magazines. But it is also true that you can be the one who starts a fashion trend and make is popular. If people around you find the style attractive and well suited, they will start following the style and ultimately it will turn into a fashion.
Fashion trends are hugely affected by the most popular celebrities. We sit at home and see them wearing a dress and next day we rush to the mall looking for that dress. What this process does not expose is the care and though that goes behind that particular dress worn by the celebrity. The fashion designers are often faced with the challenge of creating something unique and extraordinary that would influence the fans of that celebrity to hold the best possible image of that celebrity.
It is amazing, how many people would dress like a person with an intention of looking like him/her and cut the same figure as that person. This also contributes tio the changing fashion trends as a celebrity followed by billions is likely to change his/her style in every few weeks which ultimately leads to a rapid change in fashion industry.
Fashion industry though might seem a world filled up with glamour and money, but those are not the only things that it has. The fashion designers have to be very careful how they design their dresses and how they market the designs. Fashion industry is an ever changing industry and it is almost impossible to predict the direction of the change. This calls for a high level of sensitivity on the part of the designers and fashion houses.
Fashion as we all know is a practice that has been passed to us from our ancestors. People always knew what to wear and what would suit a person more than other dresses. The robes and crowns and gowns those the ancient roman rulers used to wear, bear the testimony to this fact that fashion is in fact a very primitive invention. But it was not until the early 19th century when people came to grasp the concrete concept of fashion and it’s ever changing trends.
Fashion, as we know it, came in to the scene in the mid 19th century and was created by a tailor named Charles Fredrick Worth who exceeded the perimeters of tailoring and brought the concept of different dress patterns for different people. He made people understand that what we wear should reflect what we are. He was the one who single handedly dominated the fashion world at that time.
The practice of designers drawing the picture of a dress and generating the view of finished product has been in the scene for longer than we know. Earlier, French designing companies used to hire painters and artists to paint the picture of a finished dress and show it to the customers to give them an idea how the dress in going to make them look. The pictured used to be printed on the cover pages of the magazines and papers for publicity.
Compared to hour glass dresses which mark the star of the fashion as we know it today, the skirts came in the act in early 20th century. In the beginning, it was up to the ankle length which later shortened up to the mid calf.
The women fashion saw a drastic change after the world war II as so many of the famous fashion houses closed after the war making way to the newly groomed fashion which took women away from the Paris centered fashion practices.
Fashion since then started to move away from the glamour factor and started to shift more towards the comfort of the individuals. This shift is in fact a retro fashion which takes us centuries back when comfort is all that mattered as far as dressing was concerned.
